And...Back on track.

Had a very productive meeting on Tuesday, i have used the moving average to forecast a year's data. I have also plotted the graph and calculated the Mean Absolute Error for it. Thank you Lord!!!

what could go wrong??!!!

Just when i thought all was fine....
I've been in a kind of fix for some days now or is it "writers' block"? in my case it's the software block and i really need my supervisor. If he is reading this, hope you received my email.

So far, So good

So far i have acheived quite alot this past week, ticked more tasks off my list. So many papers to look through and reference. So good, it's all going well. :)

Meeting

I had another meeting on the 12th of March, to tick off the list of tasks that have been completed since the last meeting and to get more resources. All is looking good. :-)

Finally

I finally had a meeting with my supervisor on Monday the 27th of February. He apparently had been busy marking the lengthy proposals. So my tasks are to get the literature review going; on General forecasting - what? techniques used, concentrating on time series. 2. Electric load forecasting - what, techniques, times series, regression analysis, expert systems, neural nets, concentrating on ANN types.
3. Brief Review of NEAT with detailed forecasting.
4. Put some more detailed activities in my Gannt Chart
5. Find data
6. Put Data into Orange and plot it
7. Use Excel forecasting or a simple forecasting to compare
8. Locate MATLAB studio in Uni and do tutorials.
So let's get cracking.

Hello

I've been trying to get in touch with my supervisor for a while now. Sent out two emails already and no response, might be calling him soon.

Tutorials

I started tutorials on Orage datamining this week. Matlab Costs about £80. I will have to take up Dr Ozveren's offer on his Matlab.

Deadline!!!

Today is the submission day for the proposal and i "burned the midnight candle" just to get it done.
I have just the risk assessment to do and some tweaking to the gantt chart, then submit. Enjoying it now.

Race against time

Over the weekend i worked on most sections of the proposal. I still have some few things to do before my meeting with my supervisor tomorrow. I hope so much does not get cut out. Arrgh!!!

Progress

At my last meeting with my supervisor on Monday; the scope for the project has been revised and this has made alot of things clearer. I feel very confident to begin. So far i have written my first few hundreds. Busy, busy.

Topic Allocation

I had my heart in my mouth while waiting for my name to be called out during the project topic allocation.
My name was called last (finally!) and i had my second choice allocated to me. Must be fate.
Met with my supervisor, thursday of the same week.
He gave me some resources to look at, erm.....i was blank for a day or too, was not sure what i had gotten myself into. thankfully, after a lot of reflection and sarching and counselling, i think i'm actually getting the hang of it.
Now 10 days to proposal submission; i'll be fine by God's grace.
Oh, the project topic is Electric load forecasting using NEAT algorithms.

Topic submission

I have handed in three Topics for my project of which one would be approved. Fingers crossed on this one.
